Murshidabad district is a district of in the Indian state of west bengal Situated
on the left bank of the river Ganga the district is very fertile. Covering an
area of 5,341 km2 (2,062 sq mi)

About Murshidabad Tourism: -
Located
on the banks of the Bhagirathi river, Murshidabad was the last capital city of
independent Bengal and is known for its Mughal and British colonial history.
Among several historical structures built during the Mughal and British rules
is the Hazarduari palace. Built by Duncan McLeod, it is now a museum showcasing
armory, paintings and portraits of Nawabs and is one of the prime attractions
of the city.

· HAZARDUARI PALACE:
Built in European architectural style in 1837, the Hazarduari
palace is a three-storey palace and comprises 1000 doors, 114 rooms and eight
galleries. The palace was built by Duncun McLeod for the Nawab Najim Humaun
Jah, descendent of Mir Zafar. The palace
was used for holding meetings as well as for accommodation of high British officials.

NIZAMAT IMAMBARA:
Located on the banks of
Bhagirathi river and opposite to Hazarduari palace, the Bara Imambara was built
by Nawab Nazim Mansoon Ali Khan Feradun Jah in 1847 AD. It was built after the
Imambara built by Siraj-ud-Doula was destroyed in fire. It was built in only 11
months. It is considered the largest Imambara in India.

JAHAN KOSHA CANON:
It is a huge
canon, built by craftsman Janardan Karmarkar of Dhaka in the 17th century. The
canon is 17.5 ft long and weighs 16,880 Ib. Near the canon, tourists can see a
mosque, named as Kadam Sharif. It is said that the mosque contains a replica of
the footprint of Prophet Muhammad.
